24 Hours in Rome

24 Hours in Rome

After this weekend, Rome is easily in my top 3 European destinations. The food, the wine, the people – *chef’s kiss* spectacular! We spent just a weekend there but I felt like that was enough time to see everything we wanted to see.

For me, sightseeing doesn’t need to go beyond a day or two. Of course, there are some places that you simply can’t tackle in a couple of days, but considering that I don’t do well with crowds, I usually prioritize my top 5-7 places. This gives me the rest of the trip to do other things like relax, get a spa treatment, or spend a day shopping. After all my quick trips this year, I’m starting to master the skill of squeezing in a lot of activities into a short time, and Rome was no different. Keep reading to figure out how to do 24 hours in Rome!

As usual, I always recommend staying as central as possible so that you don’t waste too much time getting around.

9:00 am: Wake up and start getting ready!

10:30 am: Piazzi di Spagna

11:00 am: Brunch at Babington’s Tea Room

Amazing food, great tea, but if you’re not in the mood for this, there are so many restaurants close by.

12:30 pm: Trevi Fountain

Very crowded so once you’ve taken pictures and thrown your coins into the fountain you’ll probably be ready to go.

1:00 pm: Take a bus to the Colosseum

You pass the Roman Forum and other monuments on the way.

1:30 pm: Colosseum

We just walked around but you can also do a daytime or nighttime tour.

2:30 pm: Start walking towards the Roman Forum

Such a scenic walk, with performers playing lovely Italian music on the sidewalk.

3:30 pm: Time for Gelato! 😋

4:00pm: Take a bus to the Vatican City

6:00pm: Dinner at OperArt

I’ve forgotten the exact name, but their rosé is so good that we may or may not have gone back the next day for more. Same for the seafood risotto, absolutely unreal!

8:00pm: Go home and rest

But not for long because you’re going out tonight!

10:00pm: Freshen up!

11:00pm: Drinks at Willy’s, On the Rox, or any of the other nearby clubs/bars

There’s a strip of bars/clubs so you can go to anyone that’s playing the music you like. They mostly played hip hop, reggaeton, and Latino music

12:00am – 3:00am: An unforgettable* night!

* depending what you’re drinking! 😉

If you have an evening flight/train the next day:

9:00am: Wake up!

Yes you’re tired, but you knew you had to get up when you had that 5th drink last night 😶

10:00am: National Roman Museum

12:00pm onwards: Catch your flight/train or explore Rome more if you have time.

This is just an adapted version of what we got up to, but there are so many other things you could do in Rome! I hope this is helpful for anyone who’s got 24 hours in Rome!
